Margaret "Ann" (Davis) Barton

89, of Spencer, went to be with her Lord on October 15, 2017.  She was born July 7, 1928 on the Powell Farm in Fountain county to Fred "Irvin" and Ruth Powell Davis of Lafayette. She grew up in Linden and graduated from Linden High School in 1946.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Indiana University in 1950, working at IU Medical Center before she became a mother.

She was a 70-year member of Eastern Star and charter member of Assembly #9 Rainbow for Girls.  She was involved in Plainfield Women's Club, Owen County Extension Homemakers' Club and Homemakers' Chorus, and enjoyed playing bridge.  She was an active volunteer and later a substitute teacher.  She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church and Spencer First Christian Church.

Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, William "Woody" Barton of Spencer, brother, James (Elizabeth) Davis of Lafayette; brother-in-law, David Layton of Crawfordsville; sons, David (Sandy) Barton of Camby and Don (Connie) Barton of Fishers; daughter, Rebecca (Kevin) Bayless of Brownsburg; grandchildren, Laura, Michael (Elisabeth), Tom, Andrew, Sara, and Amy Barton, Jonathan and Luke Bayless; and great granddaughters, Zowie, Carmellena, and Daniela Barton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Daniel, and sister-in-law, Freda (Barton) Layton.

Funeral services will be held 10am, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Spencer First Christian Church.  Dr. Allan Lewis will officiate.  

Visitation will be held from 3-7pm, Thursday, October 19, 2017 and 9am until the time of the service Friday at the church.

Graveside service will be held 3pm, Friday at Linden Cemetery in Linden. Arrangements are with West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Spencer First Christian Church or the Lewy Body Dementia.

Sorry to hear, just now ran across the obituary. Ann was a sweet friend we knew from Plainfield Christian church- then later when we lived in neighboring counties- we run into her while shopping at the mall- also went to visit she and Woody in their home a couple times. Wonderful people. Joe and Joyce Peden
