Maria T. Shipley

Maria T. Boso Shipley 51, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006. She was born September 21, 1955 in Indianapolis to Jimmie L. and Mary (McGuire) Boso. Maria graduated from Chatard High School, Class of 1973. She attended Indiana University, receiving her Bachelors Degree in 1976 and her Masters Degree in Literature in 1978. Maria married Edward L. Shipley March 3, 1984, and he preceded her in death in 2004. She worked for F.C. Tucker in the Fishers office for the past 10 years. A member of St. Simon Catholic Church, she was also a St. Lawrence School Board member. Maria had taught communication classes at Marian College and enjoyed volunteering in her children's schools. She was a joyous, fun loving woman, passionate about life. To Maria, her faith and family were precious gifts from God. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 4 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Casleton Chapel, 9900 N. Allisonville Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, with prayers at 9:15 a.m. in the Mortuary. Maria is survived by her children; Edward L., Joseph C., Elizabeth M. and Jennifer K. Shipley; siblings, Casper N. "Cap", Molly E., and Catherine E. "Kitty" Boso; her mother, Mary McGuire Boso; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Rene and Dick Loest, Stephanie and Steve Hade, and David and Lucy Shipley. In addition to her husband, Maria was also preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Boso. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maria Shipley Education Fund in care of Cathedral High School.
