Robert M. "Bob" Syrus
86, of Poland, IN, died on June 30, 2012. Bob was born in Indianapolis on July 2, 1925. He was the son of Flossie (Mayfield) Syrus and step-son of Dal Manis. Bob married Ann Edmondson in 1972, she survives. He was a maintenance supervisor at Hokanson-Harcourt Management Company in Indianapolis from 1978 until he retired in 1991. Bob was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, with memberships at the Cloverdale American Legion Post 0281 and the Indianapolis VFW Post 2839. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3 in Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home , Clayton, with visitation there from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery. Survivors including his wife are sons, William "Bill" Syrus, New Palestine, Jeff Syrus, Cloverdale and step-son, Chris Hutcheson, Avon; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
