DAVID McDONNELL Obituary
DAVID J. JR. lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at the age of 44. Survived by his wife, Jane (nee Hope); daughter, Hope; his mother, Mary (nee Whalen), late father David J.; his brothers, Bill (Jen), Brian (Kim), Joe (Dani) and Dan (Beth); his sister, Mary (Morrie) Ledwith and 7 nieces and nephews. Dave graduated from St. Joe's Prep in 1986 and LaSalle University in 1990. He worked in the family business, General Fire Equipment, Co. for years. He will be sorely missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Friday, 10:30 A.M., at St. Helena Catholic Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell PA 19422, where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 A.M., Friday at the Church. Friends may also call Thursday Evening from 6 to 8 P.M., at St. Helena Church. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cem.etery, Springfield PA. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made to For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation

Dave was my child's godfather, and unfortunately, I. Just recently learned of his death. If ever there was an angel on earth, it is Dave. What an awesome man, and true example of a gentleman. We love you, Dave.

Dave was a customer and client of my company Kidde Fire Systems. I called on him for several years and grew close to Dave as a friend and business partner. I could sit, listen to and chat with him forever. He was brilliant and I learned so much from him. He deeply cared about his business, customers and family. I will sorely miss those visits but will mostly miss him. I'm very sad but know we'll all see him again in Heaven. My deepest care and concerns extend to his wife Jane, daughter Hope and the entire McDonnell family. If there is anything I can do for the family, please let me know.

Dave had such a contagious smile and laugh, remembering many good times with him and his brother rowing out of PennAC during high school summers and in college. He will be missed, may your fond memories of Dave carry you through these trying times.
