1971...Pop had this white Volkswagon van that had a mini-kitchen. He would load us up in the VW and stop at the Colonel and get a bucket of chicken, some sides and sodas...and we would go down to the airport, open up the side door...pull out the table and grub looking at the planes take off.
Yeah, that was cool.

To the Baxter family, I too understand what it is like to loose a father and I understand the pain, but one thing we know for sure he doesn't have to suffer the cares and worries of this world. He has gone to see a better place. Please continue to keep his memory alive in each one of you who knew him. I guarantee you he will forever live on. I love each and everyone of you even being all the way down here. And may prayers are with you always.

The one true tool that my dad gave me for my tour in this thing called life was a strong work ethic. He was always working to provide for what was his...so it seemed. H e woke me up at 4:30 in June of'71 and took me to a garage where the daily paper was being routed out. I've been working ever since. If the dads of today realize that their children have to be productive, they will see to it that their children are doing something...something positive and productive,

Dad:
It is 2:13 a.m. Monday March 13, 2006 and i am sitting here just thinking, not really about much but one thing plays in my mind is that i am actually writing to you and knowing that before you wouldn't even had a chance to read it, but it's probably a computer where you are so i feel like i am talking to you right now. Boy this is crazy, yo, its so unreal to think that you are actually gone for right now, yeah only for right now cause i too know that one day i will see you again. God has a plan for my life just like he had a plan for yours. I love you and miss you much. GUT

To My Dad:
To me it's still not quite clear, that you my DAD are no longer here:
Cause still I wait for the phone to ring, to hear you voice saying something;
You'd say did you see that crap on Y&R, and before you'd hang up we'd say talk to you tomorrow;
But the phone won't ring ever again, not only did I lose my DAD, I lost my friend;
Only we know what we talked about, because to the world we did not shout;
I love you DAD I'll also say, that in my heart you'll always stay;
One day we'll meet to talk again, you'll still be my DAD, and also my friend!!
Love you Mikhy

On Behalf of The Entire Baxter Family (and God knows there are lots of us): We would like to thank each and every one of you for the the sincere condolences and the warm sentiments (not to mention the many donations) which were sent our way during our time of sorrow and remembrance.
Needless to say, my Pops was a King amongst Kings; a true Man's Man, and he will sorely be missed; however, Pops' legacy shall forever live on as my siblings and I gladly grab the baton and forge ahead in hopes of making Pops' life meaningful and worthwhile. We ask that you continue to keep us all in your daily prayers/meditations .... as life continues to be life >< and, as God continues to be God!
We love you....and we thank you, all!

There was a Christmas morning that we, my siblings and I, woke up and there was nothing under the tree. We lived in Richard Allen projects, before the lawns. There had been a wild snow storm that night, so we thought Santa couldn't make it. Of course there was the cryng and pouting and just plain disappointment on the faces of the Baxter 5. What we didn't know was that the toys and gifts were over an Aunt's house, to avoid snooping, and because of the storm they couldn't get to us. We received our Christmas later that day.

Dear Cousins,
I am sorry for the loss of your dad, my Uncle Joe. Although my family and I could not be in Philly or Savannah, our hearts and prayers were with you. Please stay strong and remember that GOD only sends for the best, and the best is what he got with Uncle Joe. I will always remember that great big smile he carried whereever he went. As a child I was not afraid of him, but of his stature and presence when he came into a room. He commanded attention and respect when he entered a room and he will command that same attention and respect in his new HOME! Although my children never met him, I have told them about Uncle Joe and my childhood memories, that I can recall. Again my family and I send our love and care to you all.

A story:
When I was young I used to get up in the middle of the night to get food [i was always hungry]. Me and Mike shared a room. When I got to the door with melting ice cream in one hand and cookies in the other, the door to the bedroom was partially closed. I'm shivering in my drawls as I called for mike to open the door. It wouldn't budge. "Mike, open the door." There was this hulking figure looming, half laughing. He made me, after I ate my bounty, stand on one foot with my hands on my head in front of his door all night long.

To My Family,
Know that the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your minds through Christ Jesus. Let us continue to be steadfast,unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for he is our Shepherd and we shall not want.
We thank God for the memories that Joseph Baxter Sr. leaves with us and we will cherish them in our hearts and minds.
My prayer for us, is that we stay on the path of righteousness. Then we can meet around Heaven throne where everyday will be Sunday and the Sabbath will have know end.
The Best Family Reunion Ever!!!
