Robert W. 'Rob' Huebel III

Robert W. "Rob" Huebel III, age 55, of Oscoda, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025 at his home.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1969, in Rochester, to Robert Jr. and Suzanne Huebel (Barkham). Rob graduated from Oscoda Area High School in 1987 and continued his education at Northern Michigan University, earning his bachelor's degree in political science.
Following his undergraduate studies, he returned to Oscoda where he owned and operated his family business, Vista Lanes & Lounge, for over 30 years.
Rob was an active member in the Oscoda community, having served on the township zoning board and the township planning commission. He was the Oscoda Township Supervisor for six years and most recently served as a member and Chairman of the Iosco County Board of Commissioners. Rob also belonged to the Oscoda Rotary Club and was an active high school bowling coach.
An avid football fan, he was a long-time supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed bowling and numerous outdoor activities, such as boating, snowmobiling, and quad-riding. Rob also loved hunting and fishing, and spending time in the Upper Peninsula and Canada with family and close friends.
Rob will be remembered for his friendly and open demeanor, along with his fun-loving attitude, but most importantly for being a wonderful, loving father.
He is survived by his children, Robert W. "Bo" Huebel IV, currently stationed in Minot, North Dakota, Paige (Brooke) Huebel of Oscoda, and Grant Huebel of Oscoda; and grandson, Cohen Huebel. Rob is also survived by his parents, Bob and Sue Huebel; and by several beloved extended family and friends.
