Kathryn Fanning Obituary

Kathryn Killen Fanning Kathryn Killen Fanning of Hilton Head, SC, formerly of South Charleston, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Kathryn was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Addie Shouldis Belcher. She graduated from DuPont High School and attended community college in Michigan. She worked as a secretary for the U.S. Air Force in Washington, D.C. and San Antonio, TX. She also worked as a secretary for the WV Department of Education and as an administrative assistant for the WV State Senate. Kathryn was a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, WV. She enjoyed playing golf and became a pastel painter/artist in her retirement. Survivors include her husband, former WV State Senator John Pat Fanning of Iaeger, WV, her daughter, Stacy Killen Hodge and husband Steve of Silver Spring, MD, cousins Donna Belcher and husband Ira of Hurricane, WV, Delores Birkhead of Accoceek, MD, and her beloved dog and constant companion, Bailey. A celebration of Kathryn's life will be held for family and friends on April 12, 2016, at the Port Royal Beach Club from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Art League Academy, P.O. Box 5367, Hilton Head, SC 29938.
