Norma Shields Obituary
June 17, 1931 - August 21, 2023
Bluffton, South Carolina - Norma Shields was born on June 17, 1931 in Ellsworth, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey and Lottie (Kimble) Dahlberg. She earned her Masters Degree in Education and taught 4th Grade for 35 years in the Shawnee Mission Kansas School District. Norma married Robert Prather Shields Jr. in 1952 and resided in Overland Park, Kansas until moving to Bluffton (Sun City) South Carolina in 2002. "Bob" preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by her only daughter, Cynthia Marie Shields Whalen, and Norma considered Cynthia's husband Jerry to be her son. Norma loved golf, travel, and a good party. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Mayflower societies. She lived a happy and full life, passing away on August 20, 2023 at Savannah Memorial Medical Center in Georgia.
