Swampscott - It is with a heavy heart to announce that John J. Corcoran, 59, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2023 at his home. John, fondly known as Hawkeye, was born in Chelsea, MA on January 10, 1964. He was a graduate of Swampscott High School and the Gunnery. He was a great athlete playing football and tending net as a skilled goalie for Big Blue. After graduation he attended the Police Academy and became a Swampscott Police Officer following in the footsteps of his father. Due to an unfortunate injury, he retired as a police officer. He spent a few years living in Naples, Florida and returned to Swampscott back in 2007 to help take care of his mother.

John was predeceased by his parents, Francis (Jap) Corcoran, Jr. and Patricia Corcoran. He is survived by his sister Tracy Brawley and her husband Peter Brawley of Swampscott, his niece Marissa McCormack of Haverhill, his Uncle Peter Corcoran of Michigan, his Aunt Adair Lee of Lynn, and many cousins.

Service Information: His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 9:00am from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME 67 Ocean Street (RTE 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
