Lynda Kay Wray flew away peacefully on Angels Wings into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and the beautiful care givers and folks of Noah Homes in Spring Valley, CA. Lynda was born on February 6, 1960 at the hospital her Grandfather Neal Leslie Wray worked on from the ground breaking until it opened January 15, 1957. Lynda was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Margaret Lillian Parker, Neal Leslie and Ruby "Ru-Ru" Wray, 4 baby nieces born and prematurely born to Neal L. and Ruby Wray, uncle Jim Parker and cousin, Pamela Parker. She is survived by her parents, Neal H. Wray and Janet (Wray) Lamphere of El Centro; stepfather, Jim Lamphere; brothers, Daniel L. (Kathy) Wray and Neal H. (Debbie) Wray; niece Allison (Jason) King; nephews Bryan and special friend Daniela Abatti, Sterling Wray and fiance Gisela Mora; cousins, Nancy (Bob) Chad, Joan (Gene) Valliere, Michelle Villere, Carol Rae (Mike) Milosch, Ben and Sam Milosch and Jimmy Parker, Mary Lynn Parker-Kokalis, Robert (Judy) Johnson, Jeff, Josie Ann and Jason Johnson, Michael (Wanda) Johnson and her god parents, Ed and Mary Valencia and uncle Jim's special partner Beverley Purdy and many other relatives. Lynda attended IVCEC in El Centro until 1981 at that time became part of the ARCIV family. She loved her jobs at ARC including landscaping and janitorial so much so that in the past year she would insist that the weekend care givers driver her out to ARC so that she could try the doors just to see if they were really closed, leaving disappointed. Lynda lived an independent life, not needing Care givers only in the last few years. Most mornings getting up independently at 5 a.m. to catch the ARC Bus at 7:15 a.m. Lynda loved watching TV when she was home, her favorite programs that she watched over and over again were The Reba Show and The Golden Girls. On her 50th birthday she was thrilled to go to the Las Vegas Grand with her niece Allison, sister-in-law Kathy and Debbie and her mother to see Reba Mac Intyre and George Strait in concert, so very happy. Lynda was a long time participant of Special Olympics beginning with gymnastics, swimming and bowling. She attended the State level Olympics in swimming, winning many medals in each of her competitions. Lynda had many people coaching her along the way especially Daniele Porter and Susie Waterman. Lynda touched and was touched by many people in her life. Never able to go for groceries or to Celias or Sobes for a meal without someone coming over to say hello and giver her a big hug. She will be missed by so many including her ARC friends and staff, as well as her care givers at California Community Catalyst. Lynda last resided at Noah Homes in Spring Valley California. A home for people with intellectual disabilities. A home where the most loving and compassionate people work and live. Even though Lynda was there only a few months and not really knowing Lynda they knew her heart and loved her. There will be a Thanksgiving Mass at Noah Homes that will include her Celebration of Life. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Lynda do so to Noah Homes, 12526 Campo Road, Spring Valley, CA 91978.
