NARENDRA PATEL Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce Dr. Narendra Jagjivan Patel, 74, of El Centro, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Dr. Patel was born on April 30, 1945 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He married Aruna Patel on June 29, 1979. He moved to El Centro, California on October 1st, 1981 where he dedicated over 40years of treating and caring for numerous patients and their subsequent families. Dr. Patel, an Ophthalmologist, earned his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine, and completed his residency at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, CA and his fellowship at Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. He moved to El Centro, California on October 1, 1981 treating numerous patients and subsequently their families at the Desert Eye Institute Medical Group, Inc. on 1461 State street. Dr. Patel was also affiliated as a Surgeon with Pioneers Memorial Hospital and El Centro Regional Medical Center. He lives on in the loving memories of his beloved wife Aruna and children Ketan, Shakeel and Sherrina, as well as countless friends and family from around the world. May his beautiful and generous soul be blessed with eternal peace. The Family will be holding a private Celebration of Life in El Centro, CA on Friday, May 17, 2019. Please contact the family if you wish to attend [email protected] As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of sending flowers to the family, donations can be sent to the office, 1461 W. State street, El Centro, CA 92243. The family will match those donations and send them to Dr. Patel's favorite Charities.

Dr. Patel was an awesome doctor. Always wanting to chat and took as long as you needed, was never in a rush. He will be greatly missed by his patients and the community.
