VICENTE NAVARRO DURAN
1924 – 2008
For you, Dad, with love from your family . . .
Vicente Navarro Duran, 84, of Brawley passed away early Sunday morning, August 10, 2008.
He was born in Cueramaro, Guanajuato on July 19, 1924. He married Maria Albina Torres and by way of Mexicali, Vicente and Albina came to settle in Brawley, California where he lived for 34 years and raised his four children. While living in the Imperial Valley, Vicente worked as a farm laborer for over 40 years before retiring. He believed in putting his family first above all else. Through his unyielding love and support he instilled in his children the importance of pursuing their dreams no matter what they might be. He leaves behind fond memories of early morning walks, his love of gardening, moments spent playing with his grandchildren, times spent sitting outdoors with his wife and children sharing each other's stories, and carne asada barbeques at family get-togethers.
Viewing will be held Sunday, August 17 at Frye Chapel in Brawley from 6 to 9 p.m. with Rosary being said at 7 p.m.
Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 18 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Brawley. A reception will be held at Hidalgo Hall in Brawley after the mass. A private cremation will follow at a later date.
Vicente will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Albina; daughter, Minerva and her children, Kaleigh, Savannah, Reo and Mike; daughter, Rosi; son, George and daughter-in-law, Melissa, and their children Melanie, Georgy, Bianca and Blakey; daughter, Lorena; daughter, Antonia; and granddaughter, Andrea.
Dad, not a day will go by that you will not be missed. Not one day.
