Tony Austin Obituary
Tony Edwin Austin, age 76, died Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Jackson, TN, on October 29, 1938, the son of the late Elmer Austin and Ruby Gunter Austin. Tony spent his entire life as a musician, singer and songwriter.
He is survived by one son, Tony Ray Austin and wife Regina of Jackson, TN; one daughter, Suzan Austin Powers and husband Bradley of Jackson, TN; two brothers, Joseph William Austin (Mildred) of Jackson, TN, Ray Austin (Joyce) of Alamo Gordo, NM; one granddaughter, Melissa Austin Roe (Jeremy); two great-grandchildren, Brayden Roe and Austin Roe.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife Martha Austin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, November 10, 2014, from 4 until 6 p.m.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed The American Heart Association, 2170 Business Center Dr, Suite 1, Memphis, TN 38134; or Lebonheur Children's Medical Center, 77 Stonebridge Blvd, Jackson, TN 38305.

Working on Jackson's 50's musical legacy, I would like to express my sincere condolence to your family. Tony was well know worldwide for his work with Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Smoochy Smith, Rex Hale, The Burnette Brothers, Carl Mann and Rayburn Anthony to name a few as well as for his own recordings/song writtings. Tony's old friend Wes Beavers join to me on that correspondance.Our beloved one received a call from Heaven. His mansion had been prepared, God was so very pleased with the life he had lived, the happiness and love he had brought to so many.

I loved hearing Tony sing and play the
drums ! I always asked him to play
"TEAR IT UP" He will be greatly missed. He was such a great guy!
