Betty Strickland Obituary

Mrs. Betty Sue Strickland went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the age of 77. She was a long time resident of Ebro and a member of the Spring Valley Holiness Church.
She was born in Walton County on Feb. 28, 1932 to Travis and Fannie (Infinger) Bishop and raised by mama Amanda Bishop. Mrs.
Strickland leaves behind a loving husband of 59 years, Daniel Strickland; and five children: daughters Brenda Anderson and husband Jerry, Glenda Hunt and husband Jerome, and Gaile Page and husband Lamar; and sons Glen Strickland and wife Terri, and Dorty Strickland and wife Stacie. Betty Sue was blessed with eight grandchildren, their spouses and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Syble Byrd, Phyllis Young, Verlon Johnson, and Merle Steele; and one brother, Gaston Bishop. Mrs. Strickland was "Granny," "Mom," and "Aunt Betty Sue" to so many more.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two great-grandsons, three sisters and three brothers.
The family will receive family and friends at the Spring Valley Holiness Church on Friday, June 5, 2009, at 5 p.m.
The funeral service will also be conducted at the Spring Valley Holiness Church, on Saturday, June 6, at 2 p.m. Final resting place will be at Ebro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Seley, Carl Seley, Tony Mike Strickalnd, Thadd Byrd, Joey Byrd and Charlie Allon. Honorary pallbearers will be Durel Evans, Gil Scott, Nathan Allon and Sean Allon.
