Darrell L. Hoffman, 69

Darrell L. Hoffman, 69, of Flora, died at 8:15pm, Mon.-Oct. 6, 2014 at his daughter's home. He had been battling cancer. He was born Dec. 2, 1944 in Logansport, to the late Dayton D. "Pete" & Martha Eikenberry Hoffman. He worked for the Town of Flora for many years, retiring in 2012, and had previously worked at the former Yeager & Sullivan near Camden. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1963, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Flora. He belonged to the Flora American Legion #222. He coached the Flora Little League Indians for 42 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed Indiana University sports, the Dallas Cowboys & San Diego Giants. He dearly loved his daughter and grandsons. Surviving: daughter: Karlene & Joseph Reneau of rural Camden; brothers: Greg & Sherry Hoffman of Flora, Mike & Judy Hoffman of Flora; grandson Jaden Reneau; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by an inf. grandson Garrett T. Reneau, grandson Landen S. Reneau. Services: friends may call Friday 4-8pm at the Flora First Christian Church, funeral service there Saturday 10:30am, and the family will receive friends the hour prior to the funeral. Rev. Woody Slade, and Pastor Steve Cole will officiate. Burial at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora, with the Carroll County Honor Guard military Rites. Memorial contributions to the Carroll County Cancer Association, envelopes available at the church. Baker-Abbott Funeral Home, Flora, in charge of arrangements. www.baker-abbottfh.com
