Walter Jordan Obituary
Walter A. Jordan, 62, of Remington, died at 11:52 pm, April 7, 2013 at University Hospital of Indianapolis.
He was born on April 17, 1951 in Lafayette to Ralph D. and Lizzie (Braaksma) Jordan. Walter was a 1969 graduate of Remington H.S. and went on to graduate from International Business College of Fort Wayne.
His marriage was to Luella Minter in August of 2013 and she survives. He was a lifetime resident of Remington and had worked at Von Tobel Lumber of Remington for several years. For the past 18 years, Walter worked for the CDC of Rensselaer, retiring in May of 2013.
He enjoyed spending time and playing cards with his family and friends. He made baskets and ceramics and went to many festivals.
Surviving with his wife are his children: Michael Jordan (wife: Lora) of Wolcott, and Charlotte Hawkins (husband: Ronnie) of Muncie; his siblings, Rita Jordan of Lafayette, and Ronald Jordan (wife: Cathy) of West Lafayette; and a step-daughter, Denise of Nashville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death with his parents are a brother, Melvin G. Jordan, and a step-son, John Paul Minter.
Friends may call from 12 (noon) until the time of Memorial Service at 2 pm (EST), Thursday, April 10, 2014 at First Christian Church of Remington with Pastor Randy Sparks officiating. Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington entrusted with care.

Sorry for your loss and prayers with your family. I know him at Church long ago plus Cecil too. He was good Christian and good father, too.

I am so sorry to see that Walt has passed. He used to come and buy basket supplies from me at my shop in Lafayette. He was such a sweet man and was very talented. Although I never knew him very well I always enjoyed seeing his smiling face. He really did enjoy the basket making. Rest in Peace and condolences to his family.

We were so fortunate to have Walt work for us at the Wolcott Rest Park. He was a dedicated worker with a positive attitude. I always enjoyed stopping by and chatting with him while he was doing his work. He was respected by all of his co-workers and will be missed by all of us.
