Elsie Roussel Obituary

Elsie Irene Arant Roussel, 87, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at her home.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Father Ernest Ruede officiating.
Elsie was born in Rowan County, NC and was the daughter of the late John and Etta Dobbin Arant. Her husband of 66 years, Raymond Roussel; a son, Ronald Michael Roussel; two sisters, Margaret A, Glien and Lula A. McCullough also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Infant of Prague Catholic Church for 62 years. Elsie has always helped others and in death continued to do so by donating her body to the Brody School of Medicine for research.
Her enjoyments were ceramics, quilting, painting, crocheting, helping others and being a grandmother.
Ms. Elsie leaves behind one daughter, Maria Roussel Russi of Jacksonville, NC; four sons, Robert Walter Roussel of Elizabethtown, KY, Joel Raymond Roussel of Summerville, SC, Raoul Paul Roussel of Salt Lake City, UT and Rene' Conrad Roussel of Chicago, IL; one sister, Betty A. Bryan of Jacksonville, NC; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that Memorial Donations be made to Onslow County Home Health and Hospice, 4024 Richlands Hwy. Jacksonville, NC 28540 Phone, 910-577-6660.
