JONESBORO - Terry Lee Cullum, 73, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Terry was born Feb. 6, 1949, in Jonesboro, to the late Gail and Polly Birmingham Cullum. He was a Monette High School 1966 graduate, where he was class president.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served his community as a Monette American Legion member and a deacon and teacher of the young men's class at Monette First Baptist Church.
He was the owner of Terry's Lucky Foods for 25 years. He went on to work as a Walmart manager for 18 years until he and his wife, Ruthie bought a Superior Senior Care franchise, now operating for over 23 years as a family business.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a former Boy Scout leader, and an organ donation advocate. He enjoyed several more years of life because of someone's donation.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruthie Steele Cullum; his children, Melanie Mullen (Kevin) of Jonesboro, Jenny Salyers (Bruce) of Sugarland, Texas, Bradley Cullum (Charles) of Winona, Minn., and Daniel Cullum (Ashley) of Jonesboro; brothers, Larry Cullum (Barbara) of Germantown, Tenn., and Joe Cullum (Gay) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Sidney Salyers and Isabel Salyers of Sugarland, Emma Sparkman of Jonesboro, Timothy Farmer of Wausau, Wis., and Hayden Cullum, Nicole Cullum and Jonah Cullum, all of Jonesboro; and many other family members.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gayla Jones.
A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Macey Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Blake Cullum, Jonathan Cullum, Jack Sparkman, Chris Sanders, Bret Qualls and Bobby Hurst.
Honorary pallbearers will be his high school class of 1966, John Heern and James Hancock.
Lasting memorials may be sent to the Abner Blankenship American Legion Post 136, P.O. Box 502, Monette 72447 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; and by asking all to become organ donors in memory of Terry.

Terry was one of a kind person, he will be missed by all that knew him, RIP. Terry helped my mom, sister, and many others with his kindness. Ruthie and family I am so sorry for your loss.
