FORT WAYNE - David Allen Spade, age 60, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on Dec. 8, 1964, in Garrett, Indiana.
David formerly worked for ARC Workshop in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Potawatomi Inn at Pokagon State Park, Angola, Indiana.
David enjoyed bowling and participating in Special Olympics. He was a fan of the Purdue Basketball team and the Cincinnati Reds Baseball team. David loved to travel, especially to Disney World in Florida, loved astronomy and loved to follow the weather.
David graduated from Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1984.
Survivors include sisters, Diane (Greg) Wyant, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Nancy (Jeff) Ingram, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nieces and nephews, Sarah, Emily, Andrew and Marcus; and stepmother, Joeann Spade, of Angola, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Arlene (Frehse) and George Konley; father, Ronald Spade; and a nephew, John McDaniel.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be directed in care of the American Diabetes Association or the American Association of the Deaf-Blind.
