Linda Pellegatto Obituary

Linda Theresa Pellegatto, 73, of West Hartford, passed away on March 15, 2020.

Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Joseph and Santina (Tarca) Pellegatto, she lived in New Britain until she started school. With her family she moved to West Hartford and lived the past three years at St. Mary Home. Linda worked at the Stanley Corp. for about 25 years in the mailroom, and after that for 14 more years at the Stop & Shop on Fenn Road in Newington as a bagger. She was very proud of what she was doing and felt she was helping all the people she came in contact with. In other words, she was very well liked. The very favorite thing she enjoyed, other than a good party, was bingo. She would play as often as she could and sometimes several times a week. While she was at St Mary Home, she spent most of her time at the Hebrew Adult Day Center enjoying all the activities they offered, until she no longer could do it. She also spent a great deal of time cutting coupons from the newspapers and working on her word search books.

Linda is survived by her only nephew, Jesse; and was also predeceased by her brother, Thomas Pellegatto.

Graveside services will be at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.

Linda was a wonderful neighbor. She kept a watchful eye on the neighborhood and was happy to catch up with people as she took her daily walks. She loved her cat Lucky. She was a welcome presence and always asked about our family. We will surely remember her forever.

Cousin Linda was a very thoughtful and loving person.
If she could have she would do anything for you. I'll always remember, when she was younger, how happy she would be to see you when you would come for a visit. As a kid she always strived to accomplish doing things for herself without assistance from others, a real non-quitter. RIP girl. Love You, Cousin Jean

Cousin Linda was the one that remembered everyone's birthday, new all the scores and players for her favorite sports teams, and had an extremely lucky streak with bingo (playing multiple cards at once) and lottery tickets!
She successfully held her job at Stanley for many years and then at Stop and Shop. She was very social and liked to be around people. She had a large group of family, friends, and acquaintances that supported her and enjoyed her company.
