Lorraine Downs Obituary
Lori was born Aug. 13, 1961, in Hartford, beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Wayna) Slegeski, she attended local schools, was a 1979 graduate of Manchester High School, and attended Creative School of Hairdressing. Lori was currently working as a paraprofessional at Lake Street School in Vernon with special-needs students. She was a member of the Rockville Elks, BPOE Lodge No. 1359, the American Legion Post No. 14 in Rockville, and the Tolland County 4-H Club. She was best known for her efforts as food and concession manager for the Manchester Silkworms.
In addition to her daughter, Michelle, and son-in-law, Nathan Morrill, Lori is survived by her brother and sister and their spouses, all of Manchester. Lori was lovingly known as "Mom" by the numerous children who she affected through her community involvement.
Her family wishes to express its special thanks to the staff at Lake Street School, the Reutter and Morrill families, and all of the other family and friends who have been there in support of Lori.
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tolland County 4-H Club, "Goats Etc.," c/o Kim Morrill, 9 Amy Lane, Ellington, CT 06029.

Michelle, Ed & Wendy - We are deeply saddened to read about the passing of Lori. We had no idea that she was so sick. We do remember 27+ years ago when we would go to her house to play pictionary with her friends, family & neighbors - we had a "blast". All of the summer parties and Silkworm Games that the whole family enjoyed. We had some really good times together. I am only sorry we could not be there for the difficult times.
