Mark Lines Obituary

Mark T. Lines, 32, of South Windsor, died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at his home.

Mark was born in Manchester, Sept. 8, 1986, the son of Thomas B. and Deborah (Millen) Lines. A lifelong resident of South Windsor, Mark was a graduate of South Windsor High School with the Class of 2004. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in fitness management from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Mark excelled in sports and was an all-state football player and captain of the varsity football, basketball and track teams at South Windsor High School. He received the Most Outstanding Athlete award. He was also the youngest player east of the Mississippi River to be named to any high school all-state football team in any state. Mark also played football at Fitchburg State University and was an assistant coach there after he graduated. A wonderful friend, Mark always looked out for others and will be remembered for his loving, giving spirit and his warm hugs and contagious smiles. We will miss him greatly.

Along with his parents, Thomas and Deborah of South Windsor, he leaves his brother, Steven Lines of Albany, New York; his sister, Susan Smith and her husband, Nolen, and their children, Elliot and Cooper, of Wichita Falls, Texas; his aunts and uncles, Jack Millen and his wife, Maryann, of Placerville, California, Liz Gilson and her husband, Dick, of Oviedo, Florida, and Meg Lines of Bloomfield; and several cousins.

His family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Tommy, Debbie, Susan & Steven,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your son and brother Mark. I've met him several times throughout the years at your annual Memorial day parties. I loved watching him spike the volleyball. He was so strong, smart, handsome, friendly and loved by the many friends he had. I will never forget his warm smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Love Laura Cirillo, Ben and Thomas
