Ralph J. Tobey, Sr.
Ralph J. Tobey, Sr., 84, of Enfield, beloved husband of 64 years to Mary Jane (Zimmerman) Tobey, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital.
Born and raised in Enfield, Ralph was a lifelong resident and a devoted parishioner of Holy Family Church. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the trucking industry, retiring from Consolidated Freightways ("CF") after more than fifty years of dedicated service. A proud and faithful member of the Teamsters Union, Ralph was also a lifetime member of the Enfield Elks Lodge. In earlier years, he enjoyed snowmobiling and remained an avid bowler throughout his life. A loyal sports enthusiast, Ralph cheered passionately for the New York Giants, NASCAR, and especially his beloved New York Yankees.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his sons, Ralph J. Tobey, Jr., and Michael Tobey; his brothers, Frank, Stephen, Thomas, and Robert; his sisters, Margaret Berry, Theresa Crabtree, and Audrey Weir; his cherished grandchildren, Julia and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jason; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Tobey, in 2010, and by his brother, Clifford Tobey.
Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield. (please meet directly at church). Burial will be held privately at the family's convenience. For online condolences, please visit LeeteStevens.com
