Robert Brangan Obituary
Robert M. Brangan, 96, of Windsor Locks, passed October 12, 2023. Son of Mary and Matthew Brangan and brother of Dorothy, he was the self-proclaimed "luckiest man alive." Bob grew up in Flushing, Queens, NY, and Union City, NJ and served in the Army during World War II. He eventually worked on Wall Street at Dominick & Dominick, where he found the love of his life, Adele McDonald Brangan. They married in 1954 and welcomed seven children, nine grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law, and many good friends. The Brangans moved to Windsor Locks in 1965. Bob and Adele retired from Cigna in 1995. Bob leaves his beloved wife Adele of Windsor Locks; daughter Kathy Melhorn and her husband Lonnie of Monson, MA, and their children Christine, Kevin, and Julie; daughter Fran Czar and her husband Steve of Drums, PA; daughter Tess Armstrong and her husband Tom of Portland, ME; son Robert of Windsor Locks, CT; son Tim and his wife Valerie of Ashford, CT, and their sons Kyle and Connor; son Jim and his wife Pam of Shelburne, VT, and their sons Rob and Nate; and daughter Eileen Mell, her husband William, and their daughters Bridget and Grace all of Hopkinton, MA.
Calling Hours will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023. at St. Mary Church of Mary Gate of Heaven Parish, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT (Please meet directly at Church).
Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
