Harry A. Bigelow Jr.

. BURLINGTON - Harry A. Bigelow Jr., 72, passed away at his home Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was born May 30, 1938, to Harry A. Sr. and Louise (nee: Remer) Bigelow in Milwaukee. He spent his early life in Burlington, where he graduated from Burlington High School. He continued his education and graduated with an Associate's Degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering. On January 30, 1960, in Burlington, Harry was united in marriage to Patricia Ide. Following marriage, they made their home in Burlington. Harry formerly owned and operated Bigelow Refrigeration and Appliance in Burlington. He was a member of the Burlington Kiwanis Club, serving as past President. He was a Keyman and past Governor of the Quiet Birdmen. His true passion was airplanes and flying. When he was in his early 20's, he attained his pilot's license and joined the Flying Club. He went on to receive his commercial, instrument rating and finally his ATP rating. With the help of a friend, he built a Bi-plane. Harry was certified in several planes, ending his career by flying a Citation Jet for DHB Consulting out of Waukesha. He enjoyed repairing appliances to sell in the store. Most of all, Harry enjoyed spending time with friends and family and boating on Brown's Lake. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Bigelow; their children, Harry (Jay) (Denise) Bigelow and Mark (Tracie) Bigelow; grandchildren, Amanda (Jonathan Bartlett), Aimee (Kyle Frost), Ean, and Christopher Bigelow; and by a great- granddaughter, Jayden Elizabeth Frost. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in- law, Judith Schroeder. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Schuette - Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Burlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 26, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
