Irene Phillips BURLINGTON — Irene V. Phillips, age 76, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home. She was born April 5, 1936 in Maywood, IL, to the late John and Diana (née Hindryckx) Lux. Irene had been a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. On October 6, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Irene was united in marriage to James E. Phillips. Irene was employed at Memorial Hospital of Burlington as both a manager and supervisor in the Medical Records Department. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing and camping, especially at Crystal Lake and up north. Irene was an avid reader and enjoyed cross stitching, doing needlepoint and crocheting. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband James, their children; Lisa (Jessie) Hernandez of Minocqua, DeNiene (Mike) Harris of Poway, San Diego, James (Patricia) Phillips of Waterford, Johnny Phillips of Burlington and Jackie (Tom) Robers of Lyons, grandchildren; Brittani and Christopher Harris, Jordan, Garrett and Gretchen Robers and Paige and Lauren Phillips, and by siblings; JoAnn Stevens, Patricia (James) Herda and Peter (Robin) Lux. Irene is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a godson Timothy Stevens and by numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2012 at 7:00PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Volkert officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 14, from 3:00PM until 6:30PM at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. The family would like to express a special thank you to Fr. Jim Volkert, the VNA Hospice, the Radiology staff at Kenosha, Dr. Syed Haider and his staff, and to the many friends and neighbors that have shown their love and support through the last 14 years of Irene’s cancer.
