SACO - Joseph P. Ouellette, 88, of Saco, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at Seal Rock Nursing Home in Saco.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1928, to Paul and Lumina (Parent) Ouellette in Van Buren. He graduated from St. Louis High School.
On September 4, 1950, he married Laurette Croteau at Notre Dame Church in Saco. They spent 34 years together until her death on May 18, 1984.
On June 9, 1989, he married Yvette Cote at Most Holy Trinity in Saco.
He owned his own contractor business, and enjoyed being a carpenter until his retirement in 1993. He built all sorts of furniture for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to go fishing, to garden and to make his own wine.
Joseph is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Yvette Ouellette of Saco; three children, Richard Ouellette of Thailand, Joan Shea and her husband Stephen of Biddeford, and Normand Ouellette and his wife Amy of Biddeford; five grandchildren, Todd, Christina, Patrick, Nicole and Philip; three great-grandchildren, Libby, Abigail and Summer; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Memorial donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the National Breast Cancer Association at nationalbreastcancer.org/ breast-cancer-donations.
