Dear Loyda Family,
I've been deeply moved by Greg's passing and the condolences left here as well as shared with friends. Such a wonderful legacy and example for all. I'm a high school friend and my Dad is a neighbor. It's clear Greg made the most of his life and we are fortunate to have shared time with him.
My deepest condolences to the entire Loyda family.

Dear Loyda Family,
I have just learned of Greg's passing and would like to extend my deepest sympathies to all of you! I attended high school with Greg and unfortunately hadn't seen him in almost 30 years. Back in high school he was such a friendly young man who always had a smile on his face and a kind word to share with all. Sounds like his gentle spirit continued to have a positive impact on the lives of many over the years. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Loyda Family,
I was ver saddened by the news of Greg's passing. I graduated with Greg from SNC and he was one of the fun ones in our SNC family. I had just found out a few weeks before this tragedy that Carol Yonkers (maiden name?) grew up with Greg and his family. Carol had given me Greg's phone number, but I never got around to calling Greg. I am so sorry that I missed that opportunity to talk to Greg. It had been since my wedding that I had last seen Greg. He will hold a special place in my memories for all of his SNC buddies. My prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Shari (Subry) Kontny

Our son, John, played baseball for Greg on the Storm. He made a significant mark on John and, in turn, on us. He was a gifted coach who impressed us with his candor, grace, good humor, and obvious decency, and who, together with Chuck Steinmetz, created a team of boys who worked together, respected each other, and had a ton of fun. It's rare to find somebody who can accomplish all of that with kids 8-10 years old, but Coach Loyda was the rare person who could do it--and, moreover, do it with a quick smile, a ready compliment, and a twinkle in his eye. Greg was, in short, one of those unusual people who you just feel lucky to know. We hope that those who knew him best find comfort in most having enjoyed that good fortune. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Loyda family,
I had the privilege to know Greg practically my entire life, and read with interest all 72 guest book entries (to date). Although he was my brother's best friend throughout our childhood, Greg always took the time to include me in their activities (something I've encouraged my boys to do, using Greg as the example). He was truly a pseudo big brother.
The guest book comments captured him, he was the nicest, most genuine person you could ever meet and you would be honored to call him your friend. As adults, I remember coaching against him in Bay Little League, looking at him in the third base coach's box with the same adoration I had as a child, waiting for Greg to say "Little Siny, you're on my team". Seeing him hit grounders to his infield and thinking about how many games of pickle or "curb ball" or strike-out, we played as children.
I will treasure my memories as I am sure all of us will do. RIP Greg
My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.

Dear Loyda Family,
Greg was a high school friend. Our lives separated and I haven't been in contact with him in 30 years. His passing has deeply saddened me. Greg's character was so wonderful, caring and strong. May you all find peace in the knowledge that Greg truly had an impact on the people fortunate to know him.

Jack and Diane,
The years have passed...but I remember when "our babies" started arriving...those were exciting times. The loss of "one"---Greg, at such a young age and as described in all of the Guest Book entries, a wonderful son, husband, father and "coach", saddens me. I know it is heartbreaking for you and your family. Please accept my sympathy and prayers.

Dear Jenny, Michael, Casey and Samantha: I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. My name is Scott Wells and Greg (Coach Loyda) coached our Dukes H.S. baseball team almost 20 years ago. I also have had the opportunity to see Greg often as I live in the WFB community with my wife and three young children. We have a Dukes baseball team (I am the manager) that plays in an adult league that is comprised of many of Greg's former players. I can tell you that to a man, he is remembered as a true class individual. He was the kindest coach any of us have had the privilege to have known. I arrived at the visitation yesterday and was still not even at the first corner after waiting over one hour and one half to pay my respects. I left at 8:15p.m. to take my 6 year old son to the batting cages as I had promised him earlier that day. I believe Greg would understand. That was the kind of man he was to his family. The incredible long lines were also a testament to the many lives Greg has touched. I wanted to let you know our Dukes baseball team has a scrimmage game tomorrow (Saturday) and we will have a moment of silence for Coach Loyda and will be playing with heavy hearts. He was really one of the good guys in this world and he will most definitely never be forgotten. Please know you have so many people praying for your family and may God grant you the strength to cope with your loss and that the pain you feel is due to the quality of man he was while he was here with us. On behalf of the Wells family, Greg's former players and myself, may God bless you and your family... and Coach Loyda.

Dear Jenny and Family:
I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Greg at West Bend for 9 years. We worked on many projects together and shared many laughs. Having two girls myself I could appreciate Samantha's artwork that was all over his office. Greg was the most honest, genuine guy I have ever met. The world has lost a true gentleman. However, I have no doubt that his memory will live on. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jenny and Family,
Greg came into our lives almost 20 years ago when he approached the Wisconsin Dental Association about West Bend Mutual's insurance programs. During the time we've known him he became a true friend, respected industry leader and a person who was greatly appreciated by our organization. He developed many personal friendships within our company. He became friends with our Board members, Executive Directors, agency personnel and many, many dentists. We were always appreciative of his efforts on our behalf.
We would like to express our deepest sympathies from the Wisconsin Dental Association Insurance Programs, our former Board members Dr. Carl Shuler, Dr. Dean Copoulos, Dr. Paul Vander Kelen, Dr. James Herman, Dr. Tim Kinzel and Dr. Bill Hutchinson; and all of our staff including Mara Roberts, Nancy Wuenne, and Lisa Schneider who all knew Greg well.
We wish you stength and may God be with all of you.

Dear Loyda family: I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Greg’s passing. Dear Jenny & Family:
I can’t begin to express the sadness Jo Ann and I feel. After every meeting or conversation with Greg, I became inspired to be a better husband, father, Christian and just a better person in general. I have a feeling Greg touched many that way. It’s not often you emulate someone your own age, with Greg I did. Definitely a life to short but one that will continue to inspire the many of us he touched. God Bless.

Deepest heartfelt thoughts and sympathy to the Loyda family. Greg was and always will be remembered by me as a very kind individual. The years have escaped us in getting together, my memories of him and the friendship we had are forever with me. Some of my fondest memories are of when Greg and I fielded left and left center together. We had each other's back. We had trust and honor with each other.
Greg will always be one of the most honorable men I know.
Time and distance can create a lot of things. Years can go by and life changes, my opinion of Greg being truly one of the good guys is unwavering. I feel fortunate to have known him.

My deepest sorrow goes out to all of you for the loss a son and a brother. Greg was truly one of the most genuine stand-up guys that anyone could have ever met. I have many fond memories of Greg dating back to grade school through sports, sporting events, poker games etc. It was very special that not only were Greg, Steve Trattner, Kyle Kealty and myself friends but also that our younger brothers, Patrick, David, David and Craig also good friends. We will all miss Greg very much and will always remember his kind and gentle nature.

When we moved next door to the Loyda family in the winter of 2008, Linda came first by a few months. I remember the relief and gratitude in her voice in telling me on the phone about how she woke one stormy morning in pre-dawn darkness to the sound of a snowblower clearing our sidewalk. It was Greg, whom she hadn't even yet met. Then and when we got to know him, he was a man of character, kindness, and good will. He was our friend for too short a time. We offer our most profound sympathy to Jenny and the Loyda family in their loss.

He will always be with you and the rest of the family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
