I have been thinking about the early days of my friendship with my old friend Tom. Hanging out in Dennis Shaw's garage, trying to learn how to play the latest Buddy Holly songs. I recall playing sax, with Tom on guitar in a basement birthday party, somewhere on the southside, probably 1959-60. We remained tight thru Pulaski and UWM.
I recall creating designs for his Blues Management Group, i.e. Charlie Musselwhite's tours, album cover designs for his Eddie Shaw and Johnny Littlejohn's records that he produced. I treasured the Racquetball promotions I did for Tom and cruising in his Caddy with Rich Mangelsdorff and quaffing some brewski's at John Hawks Pub.
When he visited me in Monterey, California we visited Charlie Musselwhite and we played music at my late brother Terry's house in Pacific Grove overlooking Monterey Bay.
Tom played guitar and I did some trap set drumming.
We stayed intouch via phone over the years, I produced videos of his talent Duke Robillard in San Francisco. I will miss the many nights we had Italian food back in Milwaukee and enjoyed life.
I do miss you brother, Happy Motoring!

Loved you Tom so much. Your cat stories, your political rants, your love for the blues, your memories. I will never forget your beautiful heart. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself every year at Big Bull Fall. RIP my friend. Love you always. Jo Ann

Tom was a friend and mentor. When I need advice with an event, I will recall the wisdom he has taught me. I am fortunate to have worked with a great promoter.
