Christine Wilson Obituary

Christine Louise Wilson, 70, died on September 15, 2022 at her home in Allegany, NY.

Chris was born, on December 15, 1951, in Kane Pennsylvania to George Ellwood Peterson and Sylvia Marie Debevec, whose families emigrated from Sweden and Slovenia. She was a talented painter, calligrapher and gardener, who was proud of her heritage. She learned the art of cooking under the tutelage of Gram and enjoyed being coddled by Tata. She loved animals and dedicated her time to rescuing and caring for them. She was committed to helping others and preserving nature; she understood the importance of our natural world and appreciated all of the beauty it has to offer.

Chris carried big dreams inside her heart – hoping to travel and explore the world. Though she may not have fully circled the globe, she managed to create a salient mosaic of life that will endure beyond her earthly existence. When hardships befell her family, she, at a young age, helped raise her two younger siblings. Following the creation of her own family, she subsequently helped raise her eldest grandson, with whom she formed a very special bond. Chris was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren – Cyrus Edwards, Royce Lounsbury and Reese Kettle. In recent years, Chris also served as a supportive caregiver for her long-time partner, Paul Lounsbury.

Chris will be missed. Chris is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother George Francis Peterson, her sister Deborah Hollamby (Glenn), her sons Marc Wilson and Russ Wilson (Frances), her daughters Jennifer Lee and Jessica Lounsbury, and her three grandchildren.

A private memorial was held. Anyone wishing to honor her memory can do so by either planting flowers or a tree, adopting a pet, or helping those in need.

I will miss you, my Sissy, but I just know that you had a wonderful reunion with Mom and Dad, and especially Gram and Tata. I will see you again someday. I love you. Farewell for now, from your little sis, Deb.
