Wichita, Kansas - Wichita, Kansas, Lillian "Lee" Sweetland, 98, of Wichita passed away on July 8, 2024. She was born on October 16, 1925 to Pedro and Francis Guiterrez in Wichita. She married Martin "Tiny" Sweetland in 1948 and they raised four children in Decatur, AR before moving back to Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons Edward Sweetland and Mark Sweetland, daughters Martha Martin and Sara Ashley, brothers Armando, Alfanso, Gilbert, Robert and sisters Angelina, Beatriz, Mary and Rachel.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Peggy Sweetland; brothers Rudy and Ray; grandchildren Jeremy Dickinson, Gretta Meeker, Heather Henry, Mandy Knoll, Emily Long, Zachary Smith, and Abbi Castro; step-granddaughter Melissa Martin; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held July 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the Kansas Food Bank.

My deepest sympathy for the family of Lee. I was her dental hygienist for many years at Dr Racette“s office and I will always remember her sweet gentle disposition. What a great lady she was.
