Margaret Ann (Schroeder) MacMillian

New Holland, PA - Margaret Ann "Tootie" (Schroeder) MacMillian, 81, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away early Sunday morning, 02/04/2018, peacefully at home, with her best friend at her side, in New Holland Pennsylvania where she moved due to health issues in May 2017. She was under the care of Hospice and Community Care.

Born 6/29/1936 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Irwin and Margaret (Hahn) Schroeder. She lived, and went to school, in Wausau. After finishing high school she enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Waco, Texas for 3 years.

After the USAF she made her home in Dallas Texas and worked for Dow Jones Wall Street Journal as a secretary for 32 years. She had many friends and spent her vacations traveling with them to other states which she loved doing - seeing new places and experiencing different cultures and food. She was very independent.

She enjoyed being outside and working in her yard trimming hedges and keeping the yard neat and clean. She liked to fish, walking for exercise, eating Chinese food, bowling, going to the movies, and playing softball (in her younger years). Keeping up with the Dallas Cowboys and watching the games on TV was another thing she enjoyed. She was a member of the Dallas Arboretum and it was one of her most favorite places to walk and see all of the flowers and trees as the gardens changed season to season. She and her friends got together often to eat and play games. She was a kind and generous person that genuinely cared about other people.

But her most favorite thing to do was to talk to "Allie" and "Dick" where they'd spend an hour talking and solving the problems of the US and the world, and getting cards, letters, and pictures from home in Wausau. Also visiting with her friends Grandchildren - Josiah, Moriyah, Micaiah, Justice, Tavia, (all called her "Lala") and their parents.

Tootie leaves behind Joanne Schroeder (wife of the late Allen Schroeder); Brother Richard (Linda) Schroeder, all of Wausau, WI; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be missed by all of her friends that loved and cared for her so much.
