CLARENCE LEE HOLLAND

1938 - 2015

Clarence Lee Holland, son of Clarence and Esther Ross Holland, was born August 3, 1938 in St. Louis, Mo. He departed this life August 28, 2015 in Harrisonville, Mo., at the age of 77 years and 25 days. On May 30, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lois F. Shumate. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janet Barber and Velma Shumate. He is survived by his wife, Lois of the home in Clinton, Mo; three sons, Terry Wayne Holland from the State of Florida, Robert Lee and Allen Matthew Holland, both of Kansas City, Mo; One daughter, Connie Fay Ruszczyt, San Bernadino, Calif; Two sisters, Suzanne Stowe and Carol Stevenson both of Lebanon, Mo. Six grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Clarence grew up in Lebanon and was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1959. He moved to Kansas City where he lived most of his adult life. He worked as a machinist throughout most of his life, first at Certainteed Fiberglass and later at Holland Machine which he established as his own business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Raymore where he enjoyed being a greeter. Throughout the years, Clarence loved racing. He enjoyed both drag racing and boat racing and for many years raced his 39 Chevy coupe. He also enjoyed working for his fellow race buddies as a machinist in keeping their cars running well. He and Lois retired to the Clinton area where he continued to enjoy working in his machine shop. Clarence lived life to the fullest and will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Clarence will be held Tuesday September 1, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri. with Rev. J.C. Beckner Presiding.
