CLAUDIA MITCHELL

Claudia Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo., went to be with our Lord on February 17, 2012. She enjoyed four and a half full years following her lung transplant in 2007. Claudia was born Aug. 7, 1946, and united in marriage to Bill Mitchell in 1966. They raised their daughter, Christy, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., where Claudia was part owner of El Cerritos Mexican Restaurant and was an active member of Pisgah Baptist Church. They moved to Kansas City in 1988, where Claudia became involved in Journey Leather. She did craft shows for over 25 years throughout Missouri, Kansas and Colorado, and attended Metro Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Mark Sharp; grandchildren, Avery, Addison and Andrew Sharp; twin sister, Chris Bebout; older brother and sister, Gary Sigars and Beverly Burger. Along with her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Hammond. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. followed by a memorial celebration service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Desperation Church, 940 South Kent Street, Liberty, MO 64068.
