Dale Pritchard Obituary

Dale Allen "Sandy" Pritchard, 68, of Edgerton, KS, passed away December 5, 2002, at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 9, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Burial with Military Honors in Edgerton Cemetery, Edgerton, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 8, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Hospice or Guatemala Project Supply Fund, c/o Edgerton United Methodist Church. Mr. Pritchard was born January 6, 1934 in Edgerton, KS. He attended Edgerton High School. He served in the Army and Navy (1951-1962) obtaining the rank of E5. On May 21, 1961 he married Mary Klamm Pritchard in Edgerton; she survives at the home. He owned and operated Sandy's Barber Shop in Gardner, KS for ten years. He also worked as an Iron Worker for Local #10 in Kansas City, MO for 26 years, retiring July 1991. Mr. Pritchard was a member of the Gardner VFW and American Legion LeRoy Hill #19 Post. He enjoyed hunting and was a very avid fisherman. Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Clarence and Hester Wadell Pritchard, sister, Jacqueline Rush and brothers, Charles "Bud" Pritchard, Donald Pritchard and James Pritchard. He is also survived by sons, Dennis L. Pritchard and Kenneth W. Pritchard, both of Edgerton, KS and David L. Pritchard, Denton, TX; daughter, Deanna L. Shepherd, Gardner, KS; sisters, Vera Gritt, Edgerton, KS and Mary Summers, Shawnee, KS; and six grandchildren.
