Donald Owens Obituary

Donald L. Owens, 67, Kansas City, MO, died September 28, 2002. Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel Funeral Home; Graveside services will be Thursday, October 3, at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Owen, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, at the chapel. He was married to Bonnie Marie Moore, and of that marriage four children were born, Donna Johnson, Dearborn, MO, David Owens, Birmingham, MO, Sandra McFadden, Kansas City, MO, and Patricia Owens, Lee's Summit, MO. Don's wife, Bonnie, preceded him in death October 4, 1981. He then married Marjorie Ruth Johnson, and her six children adopted him as their dad, Linda Vaughan, Platte City, MO, Beverly Taulbee, Weston, MO, Brenda McClung, Dearborn, MO, Jerry McClung who was from, Independence, MO, Karen MacKay, Lee's Summit, MO, and Ginger Ballaibe , Smithville, MO. All together there were 10 children, 28 grandchildren, and 19 greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death besides his first wife was one son, Jerry MClung, who passed away five month ago, two brothers, Bill and Lester Owens, sister, Juanita Reeves and one grandson, Kalen Ballaibe. Donald, a master welder, retired after 40 years from Wabash Railroad, later known as Norfolk & Southern Railroad, in August of 1995. (Arrangements: D.W.
