Dear Virginia and families. We were sorry to hear of Jim's death. You remember me (Audra Phelon) from Washburn and Alpha Phi. Jim sold us some insurance when we lived in Topeka, before moving on to Ohio. We have lived here in Clemson, SC since 1971.
We will remember Jim and your families in our prayers.

Virgina and Girls, Doug and I want to send our love to you and want you to know that our thoughts are with all of you during this time of sadness. What an honor it has been knowing both you Virgina and Jim. Jim always had such a big smile on his face that matched the big heart he had for everyone whom he came in contact with. I was so happy to be one of Jim's sponors for his Topeka Jazz Festival several years ago!! Doug and I will always remember your trip to Colorado and the fun we had attending the Vail Jazz Festival. You are in our prayers. Love, Jenny Hejtmanek and Doug Tremblay

Heaven will always be filled with "Happy sounds," now that Jim is there. Imagine the great concerts Jim can arrange with all the jazz legends that have gone before him! Joyce joins me in sending condolences to Virginia and the rest of the family. You will continue to be in our thoughts.

My deepest condolences to Virginia and the entire family. Jim was my friend and a giant in the community. He brought so much jazz and so much joy to Topeka, and the TJW jazz scholarships made a huge difference in so many lives. The loss of Jim is immeasurable, but through music, I celebrate his life.
