Tonganoxie, Kansas - Janice Jo (VerBrugge) Fisher, 79, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away May 26, 2022, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
A celebration of life will be 7pm Wednesday June 1, 2022, at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service.
Janice was born December 25, 1942, in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Martin and Joanna (Hyde) VerBrugge Jr. She worked as a florist. She was preceded in death by; her parents Martin in 1998 and Joanna in 2010; her son Scott Marcellus in 2011; and her two brothers Jan and Jerry VerBrugge; and her beloved rescue Lab, Stella.
Survivors include her husband Lyle Fisher, of the home; one son, Bradley J. Marcellus (Michelle A.) Tonganoxie; one brother, Jon VerBrugge (Jeannie) Olathe, KS; Daughter in law, Linda L. Marcellus, Warsaw, Mo; one grandchild, Trini Tygret, Peculiar, MO; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Tygret and Kaylee Brownfield; four nieces, and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in her name to the Leavenworth County Humane Society.
