NORA SHOCKEY Obituary

Nora B. Shockey, 87, of Kansas City, KS, passed Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Liberty Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday August 10, 2013 at The Porter Funeral Home 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS 66102. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery Lineville, IA. Nora was born February 22, 1926, in Mercer, MO to George Bryan and Della Egelston. She married William F. Shockey and had five children. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Nora enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn, canning, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Debra and two sons-in-law Darren Derks and Gregory Ganong. Survivors include her four children Pamela Ganong-Parins "David", Melody Shockey-Derks, Craig Shockey "Debbie" and Angela Shockey-Coleman "Terry", Six grandchildren and Two great- grandchildren. It saddened me to learn of the passing of Mrs.Shockey.I know it left a big void in the life of Angie, her brother and sisters.I hope you find comfort in the fact that you gave your Mom the greatest gift of all.That would be the gift of LOVE. You're in my Prayers
