I just learned of Stan's passing. I worked with Stan when I was at Commerce Bank and hadn't spoken with him in several years. I enjoyed knowing Stan very much. He was a great person and loved his family very much. He often mentioned how important family was to him.

I only just learned of Stanley's passing and want to extend my belated condolences to the family. I was Stan's paralegal during the 1980's. He was a tough boss, with a big soft heart. I learned SO much from him, both professionally and personally. I always had the utmost respect for him. We lunched several times after I moved to another employer, and he was always a delight. I learned so much about Judiasm from him. I am so terribly sorry for you loss - this has really taken me aback. God Bless

I just heard today that Stan died. I was his secretary for the better part of six years--but his influence on my life has continued far beyond that brief time. His intense sense of fairness and uncomprising support of justice won't be forgotten, nor will the love he had for his family and his sense of duty to the community. He was a tremendous role model for how to do business, but even moreso for how to live a life. My deepest sympathies to Suzi, Carrie, Scott, and Tracy.

Dear Suzi and family: I am shocked to learn only now of Stan's passing. I was a young attorney when I first met Stan at SHB. I also had the honor of working with Stan through LAKC. Stan was such a kind and positive person -- a great example of a gentleman lawyer. You have my condolences.

Dear Suzi,
I recently heard the sad news and I am at a loss for words. Although I knew Stan for a relatively short period of time, about two to three years, he made a deep impact on me. And I know that he had a tremendous ability to make various people in his life feel very special. As you know, he so willingly and generously served as my informal mentor when I worked at SHB. I was deeply touched by the numerous times and ways he reached out to me. Even after I left SHB, he continuously called and emailed and made sure we stayed in touch. I loved his fatherly advise. And most of all, I was truly inspired by his deep love for his wife and family. I told my husband of a year or so that the love I saw between the two of you was definitely the real deal, and I believe it something to aspire to in every loving relationship. And although I wish I had one more chance to see Stan or speak to Stan before Oct. 1, I accept his passing with heaviness in my heart. And my prayers and thoughts go out to you and the rest of his family. He will be deeply missed by me.

Dear family of Stan Weiner,
I was fortunate to be able to talk to Stan the first of September this year and to send him an article about him that he hadn't seen. He was upbeat and it was good to hear his voice. I was his Secretary during the time he worked on the Succession Plan and also at the time that my husband was killed on the job. Stan and Sylvan came to my husband's funeral and Stan and Suzi came to my home right after they heard the news that Gilbert had been killed on the job. Stan used to send me gifts anominously, but I knew they were from him, because they would come during the Jewish holiday and I always thanked him and he would just smile. I am a Christian and love the Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart, soul and body and I love the Jewish people and believe, again, with everything in me that they are God's chosen people and have the very heart of God. I visited Jerusalem last year and love Israel. My heart and prayer is that God, the God of ALL Comfort, would comfort your hearts as you mourn the loss of your father, grandfather, and husband. I can tell you that God is faithful. My husband has been gone for 15 years now, he died on September 23, 1993, and God has been my faithful comforter, friend, provider, defender, and everlasting father. You and your family are in my prayers.

Suzi: Eva and I learned of Stan's passing while we were in Sweden. I am filled with sorrow over the loss of this good, kind man. Surely the wonderful memories you have of your many decades with Stan will sustain you.

Dear Stanley -- What will life be like without a funny email from you to brighten the day…to see the latest photo of the grandchildren you adore…or to hear of your adventures with Suzi…your pride in your wonderful children…or your latest accomplishment. I hear your voice in my mind, and it makes me smile – but oh so sad and impossible that you are gone. You always said I told you in college that you were “the most sarcastic person in the world” – but we both knew that meant your no-nonsense wit, subtle warmth and strength. It meant Stanley and genuine friendship. Over the years, as I watched your devotion to Suzi and your kids, your remarkable career, and your unending generosity in your community and with people; I have been proud of you, my dear friend. Tears fall with the memories…of a life so full, with love of your family, having done so much for others, accomplishments -- but way too short. Stan was a great inspiration, teacher, mentor and friend to so many. I feel privileged to be among those touched by his wisdom and genius. I will greatly miss seeing my mentor and friend again. I am comforted knowing that that the life he shared with so many of us will continue to inspire, teach and positively affect who we are and what we do. I trust that those who feel his loss most deeply are likewise comforted by this knowledge.

I am one of a number of persons who have worked with Stan, and we will all miss him and his charm in the future. I will miss the service on Sunday but know that many of our mutual friends will be there in his memory.
