Maria McAuley, 83, of Chanhassen, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 17, 2024. Maria was born on March 8, 1940, to Johann and Maria Hauptmann in Vaska, Yugoslavia (Croatia).
Maria is survived by her husband Stephen; daughter Deborah (Michael) Besser, granddaughters Therese (Cedric), Micaela (David), Kendra; son Steve (Beth) McAuley, grandsons Sean, Tony, and Noah.
She will be lovingly remembered for her ability to inspire her family, delightful good humor, sparkling wit, sense of adventure, green thumb magic, master chef and baker expertise, artistic flare, entrepreneurship, dedication to hard work, care for persons and communities in need, and many more beautiful qualities which were intertwined with her faith.
Services will be held at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Chanhassen, MN. We will be celebrating a Funeral Mass for Maria on Friday, February 23 at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. There will be a reception for family and friends at St. Hubert's reception hall after the Funeral Mass.
