Patricia A. Sacco
Patricia Anne Sacco, heart of the Sacco family, generous spirit, and force to be reckoned with, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 94, surrounded by her family and friends, according to plan. Her great (nearly century long) adventure began on October 8, 1931. Born to the late William and Ada Mae Kelly (née Johnson), she grew up in Evanston, IL with her best friend, sister Lois, and beloved brother William.
Patricia forged a dynamic career in real estate, helping hundreds of families find "home". Her steadfast faith anchored her throughout her life, and she poured her heart into her church community, providing Eucharistic ministry, leading Bible studies, and singing in the choir at her church home, St. John the Evangelist, Twin Lakes, WI. She found a cherished chosen family through her prayer group at St. Benedict's Abby. Patricia loved travel and excitement, visiting castles, trekking through the Sonoran Desert, and even sky diving. She loved animals, giving a home to even the most curmudgeonly cats.
She built a beautiful life and family with her husband of over 50 years, Edward (lovingly called "Eddie") Sacco. They had six beloved children: Bill (Aleksandra) Sacco, Howard Sacco, Michael (Darci) Sacco, Vicki (Howard) Skinner, Elizabeth Knowles (Bill Wilson), and Julianne (Patrick) Long. Their kids built wonderful families of their own, raising nine grandchildren: Magdalena Sacco, Amelia Sacco (Damian Iordonov), Kelly (Paul) Cain, Stefani (Dave) Canedo, Jessica Skinner (Zack Weddig), Ashley (Ryan) Niebuhr, Olivia Knowles, Renee Long, and Brendan Long. They also brought sweet great-grandchildren: Maddy Cain, McKenna Cain, Aiden Cain, Leo Canedo, Axel Weddig-Skinner, and Junia Weddig-Skinner.
Patricia loved her children and grandchildren fiercely, building a world of hope and magic for them that would follow them into adulthood. She also extended her generosity, wisdom, and whimsy to all who were lucky enough to know her, so she leaves behind a large group of kindred friends and family who miss her (and her iconic hugs) terribly. She will be reunited with her beloved, Edward, her adored sister Lois, dear brother William, and her treasured son, William Sacco.
Though she is gone from this world, she lives on through the wonder, kindness, and verve she instilled in everything.
The family would like to give their sincerest "thank you" to caregivers Maya, Kathy, and Tiffany for their compassion and wonderful care of Patricia.
