1950 - 2018

HOAGLAND David T., age 68 of Lexington, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was born January 31, 1950 in Louisville to Edward and Nell Hoagland, and is survived by his wife Judy; his sons Richie and Jeff; his brothers Tim and John Hoagland; and his sisters Sue Lewis, Kathy Renforth, and Tammy Kuivila. David graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1976 and worked as a C.P.A., a small business owner, and a College Instructor. His world centered on family, music, and the search for deeper truths. "Coach Dave" impacted many lives at South Lexington baseball and Glendover basketball leagues, and cherished his time as a college instructor. He loved golf and UK basketball and playing guitar. He loved connecting with the people he cared about. He loved his brothers and sisters, his extended family, his friends, his wife and his two sons. They all loved him too, miss him deeply, and wish him luck as he journeys a new open road with John Prine's "Hello in There" singing in the wind. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Milward Southland. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
