MILLARD James R. "Jim", Sr., 83, husband of Ellen Gaye Damron Millard, died Tues., April 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital. Born April 29, 1933 in Vicco, KY, he was the son of the late Lilburn Ray and Ethel Jones Millard. Mr. Millard was a U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of Alice Lloyd College, attended the University of Kentucky and gradated from Morehead State University. He was employed by the Lexington-Bluegrass Army Depot as an Assistant to the Commander for Plans and Programs. Mr. Millard was a former member of Vicco Presbyterian Church and was presently a member of Beaumont Presbyterian Church. He was also a past member of Fayette Lion's Club, the Bluegrass Sportsman's League, the American Legion, and the VFW. Survivors other than his wife include four children: James "Jimbo" Ray (Lisa) Millard, Jr., Columbia, SC, Stephanie Millard, Cincinnati, OH, Melanie (Russell) Franklin and Anne (Jeff) Meade, both of Richmond, KY; eight grandchildren, James Dakotah "Koty", Wyatt, and Tristan Millard, Amy Franklin (Tyler) Mudd, Sarah Liz Franklin, Jake Franklin, Lily Meade and Jackson Meade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Cummings. Funeral services will be held 11 am Sat., April 22, at Beaumont Presbyterian Church, 1070 Lane Allen Rd., Lexington, KY 40504 by Rev. Kathy Riley. Entombment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm Fri., April 21 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. and 10am Sat. until the service time at the church.
