Lexington, Kentucky - Robert "Bob" Owen Solie, passed away April 6th, 2023, at the age of 75. Bob was born in Spring Grove, Minnesota September 12, 1947, to Roy and Oneida Solie. He lived in Rochester, Minnesota for the first half of his life, graduating from John Marshall High School before joining the U.S. Army Military Police, stationed in the Panama Canal. After his service, he joined IBM of Rochester, and transferred to Lexington, Kentucky in 1980 and later to Apex, North Carolina.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Ann (Kious) Solie, and his parents Roy and Oneida Solie. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Sarah-Ashley) and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Solie of Lexington, KY, a sister Linda Walth (Daniel) of River Falls, WI, a niece, Kirsten Webster (Bryan), a nephew, Eric Walth, a grandnephew, Soren Webster, and a grandniece, Solie Webster all of Madison, WI, a sister-in-law Brenda Condo (Tim), and a nephew, Nicholas Condo of Nicholasville, KY.
Bob loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed. A private celebration of life will be held in Minnesota at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Jessamine County Animal Care and Control in Nicholasville, KY.
