Thomas P. "Tom" Schirmer

SCHIRMER Thomas P. "Tom" Schirmer, 78, widower of Corena Perry Schirmer, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017. Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of the late Paul and Ruth Schirmer. He was retired from Island Creek Coal, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University Law Enforcement Program, a Marine Corps ten year veteran, and a member of Church of the Savior. He had been a volunteer at Cardinal Hill Hospital and Hospice. Survivors are five children, Jeff (Diana) Schirmer, CO, Michael (Diane) Schirmer, KY, Joby (Trish) Schirmer, KY, Kimberly (Ed) Conway, OH, and Sherry (Scott) Kopser, Lexington; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Thursday Nov. 9, 2017 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm Thursday.
