JoAnn Thomas McDaniel Belinski

HENDERSONVILLE | JoAnn Thomas McDaniel Belinski age 86, passed away at the Elizabeth House Tuesday, October 12, 2015, in Flat Rock, N.C. surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Gastonia, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred Lee and Lottie Thomas. JoAnn was a member of Garden City Baptist Church where she participated in Joy Fellowship, Charity Sunday school class and was a member of the church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Belinski; her first husband, Samuel James McDaniel; and a brother, Bert Thomas. Survivors include two sons, Samuel James McDaniel Jr. and his wife Nancy, of Gastonia, N.C. and John Thomas McDaniel and his wife Kim, of Jamestown, N.C.; a daughter, Sylvia McDaniel Tennille and her husband George, of Flat Rock, N.C.; four grandchildren, David McDaniel and wife Sarah, Elizabeth McDaniel Fowler and husband Ben, Meghan McDaniel and Stephen McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Elliott McDaniel, Joel McDaniel and Jayden McDaniel; a brother, Fred Lee Thomas of Scranton, S.C. and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Spring Arbor of Hendersonville, N.C. for their love and care during her stay there. A graveside service will be held on her birthday at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Darlington Memory Gardens in Hartsville, S.C. with the Reverend Mike Mills officiating.
