Loving mother, wife, and friend, Bertha Jewel Davis, 84, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was a member of Ball Road Baptist Church and retired from Knox County Schools. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josie, and father, Harvey Welch; brother, Elmer Welch and sisters, Opal Mayes, Ruby Letsinger and Pearl Sentell. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Maurice "Mouse" and three sons, Mark (Korita), Lance and Brad; granddaughter, Ashley (Eric); one great grandson, Wyatt; several nieces and nephews; many special friends and caregivers, Ruby Young, Jean Gasaway, Josie and Bill Carr; Stephanie Walker, Molly, Laurie from Tennova Hospice and her church family who will all miss her dearly. Funeral Services for Bertha will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the chapel of Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd Knoxville, TN 37932. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am Saturday, and interment will immediately follow the service. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.BerryHighlandWest.com.
