Mrs. Clara Agnes Loveday Long, age 93, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. She had been a patient at NHC, where she was well taken care of. She was born in Granite, Anderson Co. TN. She lived in the Dutch Valley area all her life. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Mrs. Long enjoyed cooking.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Long; by her parents, Simeon H. and Dona Jones Loveday; by brothers, Tracy, Paul, Richard and Howard; by sisters, Bertha and Elizabeth. Mrs. Long is survived by her daughter, Margaret Riggs and husband Richard A. Riggs of Dutch Valley; by several nieces and nephews, Rev. and Mrs. Garvan Walls, Mount Pisgah Baptist Church family; and good neighbors.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Premier Sharp Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 p.m. –7:00 p.m., with funeral to follow in the chapel at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Burial and graveside will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Clara was a special person to me and I will always cherish her memory. I have attended church with her all of my life. She was a very faithful member and a good example of a true Christian lady. Margaret and Dickie, she was blessed to have you and you have honored her as the Bible tells us to do.

We are thinking of you during these difficult days. We loved our visits with Aunt Clara over the years, and I have such sweet memories of her and Elmer all the way back to my childhood. Our Christmas card was signed by her own hand just a few weeks ago. I reviewed Uncle Emer's obituary and realize that she died on his birthday. She was blessed to have you and Dickie.

So sorry for your loss. I know what pain & relief you are going through. The pain is missing her & the relief she is no longer in pain. She is home with our Lord, her husband, parents, siblings, cousins. Praying for your family & rejoicing her entrance into Heaven.

Margaret, we remember you and your parents and they were always faithful to the church. Your Mother was a sweet lady and you will always miss her. I miss my parents very much, but enjoy the sweet memories of having wonderful parents. What a blessing! And we will see them again in heaven. You and your husband are in our prayers during this difficult time. May God bless you and give you strength as you go through the next days. He, your Heavenly Father, will walk with you every step.
