WEST, ROLLIE ERNEST - age 87 of 210 Old Mill Road, Tellico Plains, passed away 2:45 A.M. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Parkwest Medical Center. Son of the late Rollie Edward and Tina Dalton West. Member of Brown Hill Presbyterian Church, member of Brown Hill Masonic Lodge # 613. Well known Monroe County sawmiller. Owner of R.E. West Lumber Company. Served as the Monroe County Superintendent of Roads for 18 years. Proudly served in the U.S. Army in World War II with an infantry division in the European Theater. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Al Fouts; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy West, all of Tellico Plains; granddaughters, Tammy Britton Barber, St. Simons Island, GA, Joy West McGuire, Knoxville, Summar West, Maryville; grandsons, Micky Fouts, Tellico Plains, Jeremy West, Madisonville; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Witt, Chattanooga, Margie Brown, Coker Creek, Edna Ruth Zimmerman, Akin, S.C., Mildred Hamby, Cleveland; brothers, Donald West, Tellico Plains, Dale West, Etowah; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: wife, Voyce Ruth Irons West; daughter, Marilyn West Britton; sister, Imogene Taylor; brothers, Clyde, Morris and R.W. West. Funeral 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Dr. Sam Melton officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Epperson Cemetery.
